EYE OF THE ATLANTIS II, IBIZA
This work is named after and inspired by the hidden, mystical island of Atlantis. It shows images of water reflections turning into abstract lines and patterns that then develop into a suggestion of an optical sphere. This creates a meditative effect that induces reflection and introspection. The work takes the viewer on an enchanting journey of light fragments that continuously change shape. By exploring landscapes and seascapes, the work captures the essence and mystery of the island of Ibiza, from which the images originated.
Mahangoe reflects his light artworks from the 'Stillness of Light' series. In his work, he investigates sunlight, artificial light and his own ‘inner light.’ His exploration of light as a language pushes the boundaries of visual light art. In his installations and videos, the artist appeals to those who want to connect through light.
