The Sphere 3D
Just as a globe from a distance is observed as a dot and close by as a circle, the earth and the stars can also be perceived as two- or three-dimensional objects. This phenomenon manifests itself in everything and everyone according to perspective and dimension; everything is relative. We are part of the immense universe: on the one hand as a significant part, but on the other as a microscopic small part. The energy of a human being vibrates in the universe whereby the space around this human being is attuned to the frequency of the earth. In the Hindu writings, the Vedas, one can read about the creator Brahma. In a blink of an eye, he created the earth while actually millions of years had passed. In his expressions of light trapped in circular, multidimensional forms, conceptual light artist Clifton Mahangoe brings together the relativity in time perception together with life energy, called Prana. In his installations and videos, the artist appeals to everyone who wants to connect by means of light, in the belief that everything in the universe is connected by life energy.
The Sphere 3D
Light artwork The Sphere 3D brings stillness to the city: a moment of wonder and connection with each other. In the work, two opposites come together as harmonious partners. They form perfect circles surrounded by vibrations and spirals. In the projections, abstract dots and lines, images of sunlight, water reflections and swirling flocks of birds alternate.
During the months of December and February of 2018, The Sphere 3D was on the Westergasterrein, before travelling around the world. This includes the Venice Biennale in 2019. After this trip, The Sphere 3D will be installed at a very special location, yet to be revealed.

The Sphere 3D 2018 – 2020
Net zoals een bol van een afstand wordt waargenomen als een punt en in de buurt als een cirkel, kunnen de aarde en de sterren ook worden waargenomen als twee- of driedimensionale objecten. Dit verschijnsel manifesteert zich in alles en iedereen volgens perspectief en dimensie; alles is relatief. We maken deel uit van het immense universum: aan de ene kant als een belangrijk deel, maar aan de andere kant als een microscopisch klein deel. De energie van een mens vibreert in het universum waardoor de ruimte rond deze mens is afgestemd op de frequentie van de aarde. In de hindoegeschriften, de Veda’s, kan men lezen over de schepper Brahma. In een oogwenk creëerde hij de aarde terwijl er feitelijk miljoenen jaren voorbij waren gegaan. In zijn uitingen van licht gevangen in circulaire, multidimensionale vormen, conceptuele lichtkunstenaar Clifton Mahangoe brengt de relativiteitstheorie in tijdperceptie samen met levensenergie, Prana genaamd. In zijn installaties en video’s doet de kunstenaar een beroep op iedereen die verbinding wil maken door middel van licht, in de overtuiging dat alles in het universum verbonden is door levensenergie.
The Sphere 3D
Lichtkunstwerk De Sphere 3D brengt rust in de stad: een moment van verwondering en verbinding met elkaar. In het werk komen twee tegenstellingen samen als harmonieuze partners. Ze vormen perfecte cirkels omringd door trillingen en spiralen. In de projecties wisselen abstracte stippen en lijnen, beelden van zonlicht, waterreflecties en wervelende zwermen vogels af.
Tijdens de maanden december en februari 2018 was The Sphere 3D op het Westergasterrein voordat hij de wereld rondreisde. Dit omvat de Biënnale van Venetië in 2019. Na deze reis wordt The Sphere 3D geïnstalleerd op een zeer speciale locatie die nog moet worden onthuld.

Launch The Sphere 3D 14 December 2017

Launch: The Sphere 3D was unveiled on 14 December at 6.30 pm on the large lawn between the Transformator House and the Machine Building in the Westerpark by Maya Meijer, art historian and also the owner of the Westergasfabriek BV. from December to February the artwork is exhibited, to then travel around. After the journey around the earth, the Sphere 3D will get a permanent place in a special location.
The Sphere 3D was made possible by the Amsterdam West district and the Westergasfabriek.

Lancering: De Sphere 3D werd onthuld op 14 december om 18.30 uur op het grote grasveld tussen het Transformatorhuis en het Machinegebouw in het Westerpark door Maya Meijer, kunsthistoricus en ook de eigenaar van de Westergasfabriek BV. van december tot februari wordt het kunstwerk tentoongesteld om vervolgens rond te reizen. Na de reis rond de aarde krijgt de Sphere 3D een vaste plek op een speciale locatie.
